How We Treat
All of our physiotherapy staff are highly experienced physiotherapists and registered to practice acupuncture. We also have specialities including sporting injuries, spinal treatment, wrist and hand specific injuries, ergonomic assessment and shoulder issues.
We offer a wide range of treatments, including the most up-to-date electrotherapy, including Shockwave treatment, plus electrical muscle stimulation (EMS).
We firmly believe in expert manual handling and ‘hands-on’ assessment and treatment.
What Will Happen on My First Appointment?
Your physiotherapist will introduce themselves and explain the process of assessment to allow us to produce a diagnosis and treatment plan. You will be asked to describe how the problem is affecting you, and what makes the condition better or worse. A medical history is also taken before a physical assessment is performed.
We recommend that patients wear shorts and a vest for examination for their comfort as may have to undress to allow examination of the area of the body affected. Should you wish, you may be accompanied by a friend or a relative and will always be able to specify seeing a male or female physiotherapist.
The physiotherapist will talk to you about the best way to manage your symptoms and a plan for treatment will be made. You will be treated with either manual therapy, stretching, electrotherapy, massage and acupuncture, and will be likely to be given exercises to maintain the effect of the treatment and help with your recovery.
If your condition is more complicated, we will write to your GP or specialist to request tests such as X-rays, blood tests or MRI scans and monitor the progression of the condition as part of the treatment process.
